Dear Contributor,
It is a pleasure to contact you on behalf of the Editorial Board of MDPI´s flagship journal Molecules (www.mdpi.org/molecules). Molecules (ISSN 1420-3049) will publish a special issue devoted to " Macromolecules applied to Pharmaceutical Chemistry". Prof. Claudio J. Salomon (e-mail: csalomon@fbioyf.unr.edu.ar ) have been appointed as Guest Editor.
As you will probably know, Molecules is a free online journal. Papers published in Molecules receive very high publicity. Now published papers are archived by printing 100 hard copies of the volumes which are distributed almos free of charge to themost important libraries in the world (see the http://www.mdpi.net/PRINTED-EDITION/ website), by publishing CD-ROM volumes and by mirroring at several serves listed at http://www.mdpi.net/MIRRORING/mirrors.htlm. This journal has been indexed and abstracted very rapidly by several leading indexing and abstracting services, including Beilstein, Chemical Abstracts, CAOLUS, Science Citation Index Expanded.
It is an exciting time for research in macromolecular science. Recent major advances in all areas of macromolecules, such as, synthesis, molecular characterization, structural analysis, property development, and biological applications have emphasized the importance of this field.
¡°Macromolecules applied to Pharmaceutical Chemistry¡± will include original research showcasing mechanisms of drug transport in biological membranes, drug release from dosage forms/delivery systems, and drug targeting to specific organs, cells, or sub-cellular organelles; design of novel drug delivery systems using physical, chemical, and biological approaches; fundamental studies of the biophysical chemistry underlying various physiological or disease processes; basic research in the kinetics and mechanisms of reactions involving drugs both in vitro and in vivo; and basic studies of the physical and chemical properties of drugs and biomaterials, including bioactive macromolecules and the influence of chemical structure on those properties.
Since you are an well known researcher working in this specific topic, we are pleased to invite you to submit a paper for this special issue. The deadline of manuscript submission is 15 May 2004. The paper should be sent initially to the Guest Editor, who can decide if they indeed are suitable for publication in the special issue. Then they should be forwarded to Dr. De-Chun Ji (molecules@ouc.edu.cn) clearly stating that the article is for a specific special issue and giving the title of that special issue.
Details about manuscript preparation can be found at the web site http://www.mdpi.net/molecules/publguid.htm.
Thus, I would like to hear your opinion concerning the topics for this special issue, and at the same time if you are willing to contribute an article closed related your own research. Please do not hesitate giving me your thoughts that it will be highly appreciated and seriously taken in account.Your participation as author in this special issue of Molecules will be valuable and it will help us to edit a significative contribution on the chosen topic.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours sincerely,
Special Issue MOLECULES
